Gluten-free options

Gluten-free at Prima Fila

Fresh pasta and pizza from a wood-fired stone oven are at the heart of what we do, and we want as many people as possible to enjoy an Italian meal, including those who avoid gluten. On this page we explain how we approach gluten-free options, what the allergen labels on the menu mean, and the easiest way to let us know. If you have any questions before booking a table, you are always welcome to call us on 22 42 01 04 or email post@primafila.no.

Allergens

G - gluten | E - egg | M - milk | SD - crustaceans | N - nuts | P - peanuts | S - celery | SE - sesame | SO - soya | SN - mustard | F - fish | SU - sulphites/sulphur dioxide | L - lupin | B - molluscs

How to let us know

We recommend mentioning gluten intolerance or coeliac disease when you book, and reminding your waiter when you arrive. That gives the kitchen the best possible time to prepare for you. Allergens are marked on the menu with abbreviations, and you can always ask your waiter whether a dish can be adapted. The sooner we know, the better we can help you find a dish to look forward to.

Book a table and let us know right away.

Gluten-free ingredients are not the same as coeliac-safe

There is an important difference between a dish made without ingredients containing gluten and a dish that is safe for someone with coeliac disease. A kitchen that works with wheat flour for fresh pasta and pizza every day has flour in the air and on its surfaces, so cross-contamination can happen even when the ingredients themselves are gluten-free. That is why we draw a clear line between “made without gluten ingredients” and “safe for coeliacs”. If you have coeliac disease or are very sensitive, we would like you to talk to us directly, so we can be honest about what we can actually guarantee on the day.

Ask us, and we will give you an honest answer

If you are unsure what suits you, get in touch before your visit. Call 22 42 01 04, email post@primafila.no, or let us know when you book a table. For parties and groups with special requirements, you can ask us about private events (22 42 27 50). We would rather spend a little extra time finding the right dish with you than promise something we cannot stand behind.

Common questions

Does Prima Fila have gluten-free pizza and pasta?

We do our best to accommodate guests who avoid gluten, and allergens are marked on the menu. Please check with us which dishes are currently available in a gluten-free version: call 22 42 01 04 or ask your server when you book your table.

Is the food safe for me if I have coeliac disease?

Gluten-free ingredients are not the same as coeliac-safe. Because we handle wheat flour in our kitchen, cross-contamination can occur. If you have coeliac disease or are highly sensitive, contact us directly on 22 42 01 04 or at post@primafila.no, and we'll be honest about what we can offer.

How do I let you know about gluten intolerance?

Mention it when you book a table, and remind your waiter when you arrive. That gives the kitchen the best possible time to prepare for you.
